All the records as imperious Hayley Matthews leads West Indies to stunning victory
Records were broken as Hayley Matthews continued her spectacular run of form and West Indies set a new record in women's T20I run chase.
Matthews hit a record-breaking century to help West Indies beat Australia's goal of 213 runs to complete the largest-ever run chase in women's T20Is.
The red-hot Matthews hammered 132 runs off 64 balls to extend her remarkable scoring streak, while West Indies won with seven wickets and one ball to spare.
Else Perry (70) and a record-equaling fifty from young gun Phoebe Litchfield (52*) placed Australia in command as they reached 212/6, but the reigning ICC Women's T20 World Cup champions were unable to hold off the West Indies batting attack, lead by Matthews.
In an impressive all-round effort that earned Matthews the Player of the Match title and another of several records to fall at North Sydney Oval, the West Indies captain also took 3/36 against a rampaging Australia batting line-up.
